Shannon
Carr (centre) firmly plants the new Illawarra Mercury Flags
in the sand at Woonona beach. Surf Life Saving Illawarra is
very greatful of the support from Wollongong City Council's
Rod Oxley that will see the Illawarra Mercury Patrol Flags
used 7 days a week by lifesavers & lifeguards and at no
cost to Council.

Branch
First Aid Competition - Round 1
Windang
SLSC are definitely excelling in First Aid competition. Picture
shows Lori Hutchinsom (right) & Amanda Scott treating
a patient at the recent round 1 of the Branch First Aid Competition.
Next Round of the First Aid Competition will be held at the
McDonald's Carnival at Bellambi Beach on Australia Day.
Life
Savers Praised by Mrs Claus - 21/12/03
Rookie
Life Savers from Illawarra Clubs escorted Santa onto Stage
at the recent Illawarra Mercury, Blue Scope Steel & McDonald's
Christmas Carol Spectacular at City Beach. Mrs Claus commended
Surf Life Savers in the Illawarra for the excellent job they
do in preventing loss of life to beach goers.

Escorting
Santa & Mrs Claus on stage has the added benefit of a
good yarn with Amity Dry after her on stage Christmas Carol
performance.

Our
young lifesavers found a friend with Natalie Bassingthwaigthe
(Isi) from Neighbours who was very admiring of their participation
in Surf Life Saving.
